Techlead – Materials Engineer
Job Overview
We are looking for Materials Engineers to become part of our team of engineers and technicians. The team is responsible for manufacturing process design and development in relation to blade manufacturing. So if you hold a bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, some years of experience with similar working tasks and are attracted by an international environment with a high level of activity – you might be the person we are looking for.

The Manufacturing Process Development & Operational Support team are responsible for manufacturing process design, development and ongoing support for blades production for wind turbines. The team has about 20 employees located in Denmark, UK, USA and India.
The materials team is responsible for the specifications of non-structural materials, and further ensuring that structural approved material from design can be tested, validated and implemented in our blade manufacturing processes. New product developments and support to of our blades factories around the world in relation to materials is also a part of the daily work life and travel will be required to suppliers and our blades manufacturing sites.
The Materials team assists both new product developments, running production and all the local Technical Support departments in our blade factories.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be to:
Set safety as first priority, hereby in line with HS&E policy
Creating Technical Purchase Specifications for non-structural materials
Creating Test & Validation plans for structural materials in our blade manufacturing processes
Part of creating PRS – Process Requirement Specifications for our materials in combination with other stakeholders
Optimize material consumption, processing time and cost in collaboration with our cross functional category management teams
Defining incoming Inspection plans for our materials
Maintain and develop Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) based on Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
Engineering Change Management (ECM) – Case handing in relation to the above topics and secure controlled implementation
Close contact and anchor point with all Blade factories to be able to support and deliver as agreed
Qualifications
You have an Engineering degree (preferably chemical, material science or process), either Bachelor or Master level. Furthermore you have:
Materials testing both chemical, thermal and mechanical test methods
Experience with thermoset resin systems such as Epoxy and Polyurethane chemistry
Experience with running optimization and process development projects in manufacturing environments
Experience with Experimental design/Multivariable data analysis both planning and treatment of statistical data and tolerance analysis
Knowledge within composite manufacturing e.g. infusion technology, Pre-preg, component assembly, coating and spray painting
PFMEA and control plans
Good communication skills in English, orally and written.
